Video Viral: BJP MLA from Lambhua Sitaram Verma distributed wheel chairs to the ineligible, serious questions are being raised on the administrative functioning.
Sultanpur. A case of giving a wheelchair to a healthy person has come to light during a program of the Disability Welfare Department in Sultanpur District of UP. Lambhua MLA Sitaram Verma was also present in this program. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, questions are being raised on the administrative functioning.

This incident took place at the Divyangjan function organized at Lambhua Block Auditorium on Saturday. In the programme, artificial aids were being distributed to the disabled. Officials got local MLA Sitaram Verma (BJP MLA Sitaram Verma) a wheelchair for a man who appeared to be physically healthy.

It is clearly visible in the viral video that the person who received the wheelchair was later walking normally without any support. This incident has raised serious questions on the functioning of the officers. When information was sought from ADO Social Welfare in this regard, he did not give a satisfactory answer. Officials are being accused of not implementing the government’s ambitious schemes properly.
District Backward Classes Welfare Officer Mudit Srivastava said that a total of 16 tricycles, 8 wheelchairs, 4 crutches, 1 hearing aid and 1 walking stick were distributed by MLA Sitaram Verma and the block chief representative.
He also informed about distribution of certificates under the marriage grant scheme. The wheelchair given by the MLA was from Divyang Sandeep’s father Ram Dhani, resident of Bankepur. The disabled were unable to come to the distribution program, so it was given to their father. Still the investigation is going on. The actions of the officers became a topic of discussion among the general public.
It is also alleged that the departmental officials had not done any publicity regarding the program in advance. No information was issued regarding this, due to which the needy people were not able to take advantage of the scheme. It is alleged that the officials distributed the equipment by calling only their favorites and completed the formalities.
