Lucknow, Read: State level junior boys hockey competition will be organized from 26 to 31 December under the joint supervision of Uttar Pradesh Sports Directorate and UP Hockey Association. All the matches of the competition were held at Vijayant Khand Stadium located in Gomti Nagar. Shahid Hockey will be played on turf. More than two dozen teams from different districts of the state will participate in the competition.
Regional Sports Officer Atul Sinha said that trials will be organized to select the Lucknow hockey team to participate in the competition. These selection trials will be held at Vijayant Khand Stadium located in Gomti Nagar. He informed that district level selection trial will be organized on 22nd December and division level selection trial will be organized on 23rd December. On the basis of these trials, Lucknow team will be formed, which will participate in the state level competition. According to the organizers, during the competition, the emerging hockey players of the state will get an opportunity to showcase their talent, while the selected players may also get a chance to play in higher level competitions in the future.
