Indian Blind Women’s Association special honor from BCCI! Secretary Saikia made a big announcement for the team

The BCCI honored the Indian blind women’s team: The Indian blind women’s team won their first T20 World Cup title. BCCI has congratulated the Indian Blind Women’s team after this historic win. The Indian Blind Women’s Association reached the BCCI headquarters on December 19, where they were felicitated by BCCI officials.

BCCI Treasurer Raghuram Bhatt felicitated and honored the Indian Blind Women’s Association at the BCCI headquarters. He met the players and also wished the board on behalf of Indian cricket. The Indian team went undefeated and won the Women’s Blind World Cup. India won the match easily defeating Nepal in the final match. Chasing 115 runs, the team won by seven wickets in just 12.1 overs.

Appreciating her team’s efforts, captain Deepika TC said, “Our entire team has worked hard. We are ready to play with the men’s team as well.”

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia addressed the team virtually. Mentioned the BCCI’s commitment to support blind women’s cricket by providing kits and travel assistance for future tours. BCCI president Mithun Manhas described the win as a milestone, a source of national pride. It also encouraged the team to aim even higher. Vice President Rajeev Shukla said that this achievement is an inspiration to lakhs of people.

Indian team’s journey to the World Cup

The Indian team started their campaign with a win against Sri Lanka, which helped boost their confidence. This was followed by a thrilling 57-run win against Australia, where Australia were unable to chase down a target of 293 runs. The team also put up a brilliant performance against Pakistan and chased down the target of 136 runs in just 10.2 overs to win the match. India defeated Australia by nine wickets in the semi-final and stormed into the final. India won the title with a strong performance against Nepal in the final match.
