Haryana: It will be easy to do 10th-12th from Haryana Open School, HBSE made these big changes

Haryana News: Now studying in 10th and 12th through open or distance education in Haryana will become easier than before. For those students who are not able to go to school regularly due to some reason, Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has made many important changes in the open school system. These changes include conducting examinations twice a year instead of once, providing study material and conducting classes.

Chairman of Haryana School Education Board, Prof. Dr. Pawan Kumar said that the main objective of Haryana Open School (Distance Education) is to provide education opportunity to such students and people who cannot go to regular school due to any reason. He said that this system is running along with regular education since 1992 and its objective is to promote literacy.

Open school is part of literacy campaign
Pro. Dr. Pawan Kumar told that earlier the examination of open school students was taken at the same question paper level as regular students. Whereas many times open school students do not go to school or are not able to attend regular classes. In such a situation, giving the same question paper to both was not in accordance with the principle of equality. Open School aims to provide opportunities and comes under a literacy campaign.

Exams will be held twice a year

He said that on the lines of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and neighboring states, study centers will be opened in Haryana under State Open School. A nodal center will be created at the headquarters of each district, where students applying under Open School will be connected. They will be provided with study material by the education board and examinations will be conducted twice a year—in May and December. Results will be declared on the basis of these examinations.

30 periods for distance education students

The Chairman said that earlier the examination of open school students was conducted only once a year and study material was also not provided to them. Now the syllabus of Open School will remain the same as the regular one, but the course material will be prepared in such a way that students can easily cover the entire syllabus.

Apart from this, a content program of about 30 periods will also be organized at the study centres. Efforts will be made to provide all the facilities to the students, so that they do not face any problem in attaining the qualification of 10th-12th level.

Science students will get lab facilities

Pro. Dr. Pawan Kumar said that students taking science subjects under Open School will also be provided laboratory facilities. This will help distance education students to gain practical knowledge.
