Cameraman injured by Hardik’s swinging sixer…apologised, special scene seen after the match
Ahmedabad. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya apologized to the cameraman who was hit by his six during the fifth and final International T20 match of the series against South Africa and inquired about his well being. In this match played last night, Pandya’s aggressive batting had added life to the match.
While attacking the bowlers in his special style, he inadvertently hit a ball on the hand of the cameraman. The blow was so severe that it even caught the attention of the Indian dugout and assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate was clearly seen reacting to the incident.
In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the cameraman said he was fine and continued his work even after getting ice applied by the medical staff. He said that if the ball had hit him somewhere else, the situation could have been even more serious.
Immediately after the match was over, Hardik went straight to the cameraman and inquired about his well-being. He hugged her and helped her apply ice to ease the pain. The Indian star said that the cameraman was lucky that the ball hit his hand and not any other vulnerable area.
“God was with me because the ball didn’t hit him higher than that. I will definitely say sorry and meet him,” Pandya said. He further said that he has known the cameraman for years and is thankful that he is safe.
