Under-19 Asia Cup: High voltage drama again in Dubai, Indian cricketers refuse to accept medal from Naqvi

Dubai, 21 December. After the Asia Cup in Dubai, high voltage drama was once again seen on Sunday night, the players of the Indian team, which had lost to Pakistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup final, refused to accept the medal from the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and head of Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Mohsin Naqvi.

Indian players did not go to Naqvi’s stage

In fact, in the prize distribution ceremony after the match, Mohsin Naqvi handed over the trophy to the Pakistan team and also posed for celebratory photographs with the support staff and players. However, the Indian players refused to share the stage and moved away from the main stage to receive their medals from another official, where Naqvi was not present.

Indian team’s different attitude during the award distribution ceremony

It is noteworthy that Mohsin Naqvi had reached Dubai during the final itself and after the match was over, he was present in the presentation area along with other people. While Naqvi gave winners’ medals to Pakistani players and handed over the trophy to captain Farhan Yousuf, Indian players did not share the stage with him.

After this, Naqvi was seen celebrating the victory and posing for photographs with Pakistani players and team management. Earlier, he was also present on the field when Pakistani players were circling the field.

Naqvi in news again after Asia Cup controversy

It is noteworthy that Mohsin Naqvi has remained the center of discussion since the Asia Cup final. There was also controversy during the Asia Cup final on September 28 night, when Indian players refused to accept the winning trophy from the ACC chief after defeating Pakistan in the final, after which Naqvi had to take the trophy with him.

The special thing is that the dispute regarding hosting and control of Asia Cup is still going on. Meanwhile, Naqvi has handed over the Rising Stars Asia Cup and now the U19 Asia Cup trophy to Pakistan, due to which this issue has once again come into limelight.
