Police have summoned a 34-year-old Russian woman for questioning after videos surfaced of her performing dangerous stunts on a high-capacity motorcycle, including kneeling and lying on the seat while riding on public roads.
The Traffic Police Department of Khanh Hoa Province, in coordination with the provincial Immigration Management Department, launched the probe to clarify the suspected violations which authorities say posed significant risks to other road users.
The investigation followed the circulation of social media videos three days prior, which depicted the woman wearing a short skirt that exposed her underwear and performing dangerous stunts, including kneeling and lying on the seat, while riding a large-displacement motorcycle on public roads.
During initial questioning, the woman admitted to performing these acts on several roads in Cam Lam Commune at various times in January and June of this year.
Police traced the ownership of the motorcycle through several transactions, determining it was originally owned by a local man before being sold to a shop in Ninh Hoa Ward. It was eventually purchased by a Russian man who gifted the vehicle to the suspect.
Because the stunts are seen as “disturbing public order,” the Traffic Police Department has transferred the case file to the Criminal Police Department for further investigation. Authorities advised all residents and foreign nationals working in Vietnam to strictly comply with road traffic safety regulations and refrain from dangerous or offensive behavior on public thoroughfares.
The case mirrors a high-profile incident from earlier in 2024 involving Vietnamese model and actress Ngoc Trinh. She was sentenced by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Court to a one-year suspended prison term for disturbing public order after performing similar stunts, including riding a Ducati hands-free and kneeling on the seat.
