‘Narco-terror’ accused Rajbir Singh arrested with heroin and grenade in Raxaul
East Champaran: A sensational arrest has come to light in the joint action taken by border security and anti-narco-terrorism in Bihar’s East Champaran district. A person named Rajbir Singh alias Fauji has been caught from Raxaul town with 500 grams of heroin and a hand grenade, while his connection with Pakistan has also been revealed. Initial interrogation and investigation of the police has revealed many serious things in this entire case.
Under what circumstances was Rajbir Singh caught?
Rajbir was arrested near the Indo-Nepal border on December 18 in a joint raid of Raxaul’s Haraiya police and Punjab State Special Operation Cell (SSOC). It is being told that he was preparing to flee the country through Nepal, when the police caught him. 500 grams of heroin and a hand grenade were recovered from Rajbir.
Police said that Rajbir had originally joined the army, but later he absconded (deserted) from there. His name had earlier also appeared in cases registered under espionage and secret cases, after which he was on the run from the army since February 2025.
Pakistan connection and preliminary investigation
During the investigation, it was also revealed that Rajbir had links with Pakistan-based handlers, who were motivating him for heroin supply and other activities. According to the police, he was not only involved in drug trafficking, but his network also included internationally connected people. Preliminary investigation also indicated that Rajbir and his associates were influenced by Pakistan-based elements and had contacts with them.
Success of joint action against drugs and terrorism
Even before Rajbir’s arrest, his associate named Chirag was caught, from whom 407 grams of heroin and a 9MM pistol were recovered. Chirag’s work is said to be delivering drug consignments for Rajbir and handling financial transactions. This action has cleared a direction for the police against the “narco-terror” model, in which the link between drugs and terrorism is being broken.
Now keep an eye on further action
Police have taken Rajbir on transit remand to Punjab Police and further interrogation and thorough investigation is underway. This case highlights the dangers of not only drug smuggling but also terrorism and cross-border activities.
