Haryana: Bribe policemen in Haryana will be immediately dismissed, DGP gave strict instructions

Haryana News: Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh has given a big statement taking a tough stand against corruption. He has said in clear words on social media that thugs and scoundrels, whether in the police department or in the society, will not escape the law. The policy of the police department is very clear – answer to the law.

DGP OP Singh said that he has instructed all the SPs and CPs that there is no need to conduct a separate departmental inquiry for any employee or officer who is caught red-handed taking bribe. In such cases, direct dismissal should be done using the special powers granted under Article 311(2) of the Constitution. He said that similar action has been taken against those who have been caught red-handed in the last two months and this policy will continue in future also. At the end of the post he wrote – “As you do, so do you fill.”

212 employees were caught in eight months

The situation of corruption in Haryana can be gauged from the fact that now the counting is not done for the month or year, but for the employees caught daily. The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered 105 cases in the first eight months of the year 2025 i.e. 212 days and arrested 141 people on bribery charges.

These include 112 government officials and employees and 29 private individuals. The arrested government employees include class one officers to class four employees.

Police department is at the forefront of corruption

According to statistics, on an average a government employee is caught taking bribe every two days. If we look department wise, the police department is at number one in corruption cases. 33 police officers and employees have been arrested while taking bribe. In second place is the Revenue Department, from where 17 employees were caught.

Apart from this, 7 employees of Health Department, 4 each of Urban Local Bodies and Food and Consumer Affairs Department, 4 of Electricity Department, 3 each of Excise and Taxation and Transport Department have been exposed in corruption cases.

Officers trapped from top to bottom

This list of corruption includes one class I officer, 8 class II officers, 95 class III employees and 8 class IV employees. A bribe amount of Rs 85 lakh 33 thousand 900 has been recovered from a total of 141 accused.
