‘Dhurandhar’ leaves Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ and joins all-time top 10

Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, has achieved a new milestone by continuing its great performance at the box office. By the 17th day of its release, the film has made it to the list of all-time top 10 Indian films, leaving behind the lifetime collection of Ranbir Kapoor’s superhit film ‘Animal’. This achievement comes at a time when the film is facing direct competition from big international films like James Cameron’s much-awaited Hollywood release ‘Avatar: Fire & Ash’.

‘Dhurandhar’ has grossed more than Rs 800 crore globally, making it one of the biggest films of 2025. By the third Saturday (December 21), the total global collection of the film had reached Rs 790.75 crore, after which it was almost certain to cross the Rs 800 crore mark on Monday. In India, the film has so far earned a net worth of Rs 555.5 crore. These figures are based on initial estimates by trade website Sacknilk.

With a strong performance in India, ‘Dhurandhar’ has secured the tenth position in the list of all-time top 10 Indian films. In this sequence, the film left behind Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’, whose total lifetime earning in India was Rs 553 crore. With this, ‘Dhurandhar’ has become the third Indian film to be released in 2025, which has entered this prestigious list. Earlier, Rishabh Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ (Rs 622 crore) and Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ (Rs 601 crore) have been included in this list.

The success of the film has not been limited to just the box office. On the music front too, ‘Dhurandhar’ has created a new record. All the songs from its soundtrack have simultaneously charted in the Spotify Global Top 200, a first for any Bollywood album. A total of 11 tracks from the film are trending together. The album peaked at number two on Spotify’s Global Top Albums chart and number five on the US Top Albums chart. The title track is at number three, while ‘Ishq Jalakar Caravan’ and ‘Gehra Hua’ remain in the top 10 continuously. The album sees collaborations with artists like Hanumankind and Diljit Dosanjh, while a track titled FA9LA or Sher-e-Baloch is inspired by the music of Bahrain.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. There is an ensemble cast of actors like Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun.
