Tata Group company Tata Electronics has acquired Japanese semiconductor company ROHM Co. Has entered into a strategic partnership with. Under the partnership, Tata Electronics and ROHM will jointly assemble and test Nch 100V, 300A Si MOSFET chips in India. These chips are made specifically for vehicles and a target has been set to start mass production by 2026. Under this plan, both the companies will produce semiconductors for India and global markets. Tata Electronics will combine its technology and factory facilities with ROHM’s technology to create a robust power semiconductor infrastructure.

Apart from this, India’s first indigenous OSAT facility is also being built in Jagrod, Assam, which will entail an investment of $3 billion. Both these centers will produce and test chips for sectors like automotive, mobile, IoT, AI, defense and aerospace.
