Vaishnavi said that she was happy to execute her strategy well despite not getting a wicket in her debut match in Women’s T20 International cricket.

This 20-year-old player made his international debut in the first match played against Sri Lanka here on Sunday and gave 16 runs in four overs but did not get any wicket. However, a catch was missed on his ball. Shri Charani had dropped the catch on Vaishnavi’s ball. After which they will still have to wait for the first wicket. The Indian team won this match easily.

Vaishnavi told reporters after the match that I am not disappointed in any way by not getting a wicket. I am happy that I was successful in implementing my strategy well. There are still four matches left to be played. She said that she was a little nervous before playing her first match but listening to the national anthem helped her gain confidence. Vaishnavi said, “Initially I was a little nervous but became comfortable after the national anthem.”

Vaishnavi said that the team management and senior players, especially captain Harmanpreet Kaur, kept her morale up. He said, “She (Harmanpreet) was telling me that I have performed well in the past.
