What was feared happened, Humayun Kabir did the same thing, due to which ‘Didi’ It will be a blast!
West Bengal Politics: MLA Humayun Kabir, who laid the foundation stone of the new Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, West Bengal, has announced his new party. He has named his party Janata Unnayan Party (People’s Development Party). Humayun has announced that he will contest next year’s West Bengal Assembly elections with full force.
Humayun Kabir was earlier a part of Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC, but when he announced the construction of Babri Masjid, he was thrown out of the party. Now that he has formed a new party, the question arises that how much trouble will Humayun Kabir create for Mamata Banerjee’s Muslim politics.
Murshidabad becomes new center of politics
As the assembly elections in West Bengal are approaching, Hindu-Muslim politics has intensified. Murshidabad district has become the main center of this political activity. Here Humayun Kabir, who was expelled from TMC, is busy strengthening his political base among Muslims.
Party announced in Rejinagar rally
On 6 December, Humayun Kabir laid the foundation stone of a new Babri Masjid in Beldanga area of Murshidabad. Mamata Banerjee expelled him from the party only after the announcement of the foundation stone. After this Humayun Kabir decided to form his own political party, which he formally announced at a rally in Rezinagar, Murshidabad on Monday.
First choice given for election symbol
He said that his party will only focus on the development of the common people, that is why it has been named Janata Unnayan Party (People’s Development Party). Upgradation means development. He said that his first choice for the party’s election symbol was a table and the second choice was a pair of roses.

With whom will Kabir form an alliance?
Humayun Kabir has also announced that he will contest elections on all 294 seats of Bengal. He claims that he will emerge as a kingmaker in Bengal politics. According to Humayun, he will fight against both BJP and TMC in Bengal and has not ruled out the possibility of an alliance with Congress, CPI(M) and Owaisi’s party.
Kabir made a big claim as soon as he formed the party
Humayun has claimed that he will win 10 seats in Murshidabad. Out of 22 seats in Murshidabad, TMC has 20 seats, while BJP had won 2 seats. This time Humayun Kabir has decided to try his luck in Murshidabad politics. However, Humayun Kabir has said that his party will compete not only with BJP but also with Mamata Banerjee’s TMC.
‘Muslims will not be misled by Mamata’
Addressing the Muslims, Humayun Kabir said, “Now Muslims will not be misled by Mamata, because they have understood that Mamata only takes their votes but does nothing for them.” In this way, the political message that Humayun Kabir is trying to convey to the Muslims is showing its impact on the ground.
Humayun Kabir’s eye on Muslim votes
Humayun Kabir has used the Babri Masjid issue to decide his political direction. Using the promise of rebuilding Babri Masjid as an excuse, Humayun Kabir initially aimed to consolidate Muslim votes in Murshidabad and now by forming a new party he wants to polarize Muslim votes across Bengal. In this way, he is targeting the 30 percent Muslim vote bank of Bengal, which is currently the main support base of Mamata Banerjee.
Kabir increased Mamata Banerjee’s tension!
Humayun Kabir’s politics has become a cause of concern for Mamata Banerjee. Humayun Kabir wants to challenge Mamata by forming his own party. This development can bring a new turn in the politics of Bengal. Murshidabad has more than 70 percent Muslim population. The Muslim vote bank here decides who will become the MLA. In this context, Humayun Kabir is establishing himself as the leader of the Muslims.

There are about 30 percent Muslim voters in Bengal, who play a decisive role in about 100 of the 294 seats in the state. Since 2010, Muslim voters in Bengal have been considered the main vote bank of TMC. Muslim voters have played an important role in Mamata Banerjee’s three consecutive victories, but the issue of Babri Masjid can divide Muslim votes.
Where will Kabir challenge Mamata Banerjee?
Humayun Kabir’s move seems to be creating problems for Mamata Banerjee’s TMC, as he is now claiming to form a new party and challenge her directly. Humayun Kabir’s new party can become a challenge for TMC in districts with high Muslim population.

Humayun Kabir says that the ruling party has used Muslims only as a vote bank and has deprived them of many things. He says that he will raise his voice for their rights. He claims that no one is taking him seriously right now, but soon people will know who Humayun Kabir is.
Will this move of Humayun Kabir work?
The issue of Babri Masjid and the formation of their new party, both can become a big headache for Trinamool Congress. The question is whether this move of Humayun will make him an important player in the politics of Bengal or it will remain just a political noise.
