The design of the car will be inspired by the classic FJ40, with a boxy silhouette and upright stance. The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is powered by a 2.7-litre petrol engine (2TR-FE), which produces 163 bhp and 246 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and a part-time 4WD system. Its wheelbase is 2,580 mm, which is shorter than the Land Cruiser 250 series. This gives the SUV a turning radius of just 5.5 meters, making it easy to maneuver.

Toyota says the new FJ has improved ground clearance and wheel articulation, which retains the off-road capability of the original Land Cruiser. For international markets, Toyota may also include a hybrid powertrain option, which will offer better fuel efficiency and an eco-friendly driving experience.
