When husband stopped her from using WhatsApp, newlywed bride took a scary step

Jhansi. A heart-wrenching incident in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh has shocked everyone. Just 10 months after marriage, a newlywed woman committed suicide by consuming poison. The husband says that there was a dispute over using WhatsApp, while the parents have seriously accused the in-laws of harassing them by demanding a car. Police are investigating the matter and post mortem report is awaited.

25 year old Kajal Patel, living in Mission Compound of Sipri Bazar police station area, consumed poisonous substance on Saturday. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment on Sunday. According to the in-laws, there was a fight between husband Bhuvanendra and Kajal over using WhatsApp. Kajal took this step after Bhuvanendra went to office.
On the other hand, her parents say that her in-laws were constantly harassing Kajal mentally by demanding a car. Arvind Kumar, a relative of the deceased, said that Kajal was being tortured so much that she chose this path. They are also doubting whether he consumed the poison himself or was fed by someone.

The deceased Kajal Patel was a resident of Ghaguwan Kala village of Jalaun district. She was married to Bhuvanendra Patel, resident of Isil village, Jhansi, on 24 February 2025. Bhuvanendra is posted as TTE (Travelling Ticket Examiner) in Railways. Both husband and wife were living in a rented house in Mission Compound, Jhansi.

The incident happened on Saturday, when Kajal consumed poison. He was admitted to the hospital and died during treatment on Sunday. The marriage took place in February 2025, that is, only 10 months had passed at the time of death.

This is the biggest question which is roaming in everyone’s mind. Husband Bhuvanendra says that there was a small dispute regarding running WhatsApp. He left for duty and when he returned, Kajal’s condition was critical.
But people from the maternal side are linking it to dowry harassment. She alleges that her in-laws were demanding a car and due to this Kajal was being continuously harassed. Arvind Kumar said, “Kajal was very upset. He used to taunt her for not giving her the car. Now it should be investigated whether she consumed the poison herself or was fed to him.”
How is the investigation going on? (how)
Police have conducted post-mortem of Kajal’s body. Sipri Bazar police station in-charge Vinod Kumar Mishra said that investigation is going on based on the complaints from both the parties. Action will be taken according to the complaint received. At present, prima facie it seems to be a case of suicide, but the allegations of the parents are also being investigated in depth.
This incident has once again brought to light the bitter reality of domestic disputes and evil practices like dowry. There is mourning in both the families due to the death of the newlywed. People are having various types of discussions in the area. Police say that the truth will soon emerge on the basis of post mortem report and other evidence.
