BCCI will review the bad defeat at the hands of Pakistan in U19 Asia Cup, captain Ayush Mhatre will also be questioned

U19 Asia Cup: After the defeat against Pakistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will review the performance of the Indian cricket team. Ayush Mhatre and his team had to face a crushing defeat by 191 runs at the hands of their arch rival in this exciting match. While on one hand Pakistan is very happy with this victory, on the other hand it has described the behavior of Indian players during the tournament as unethical. According to Cricbuzz, BCCI will review the team’s performance after the defeat to Pakistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup. The decision to review the team’s performance was taken in the Apex Council meeting held on December 22.

Questions will be asked to the team manager, coach and captain

According to the report, BCCI will not only seek answers from the team manager but will also interrogate head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar and captain Ayush Mhatre. The report said, ‘This decision was taken in the apex council meeting held online on Monday (22 December) evening. BCCI will seek a report from the team manager and will also talk to head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar and captain Ayush Mhatre. Talking about the final match, first India bowled poorly, which gave Pakistan a chance to score 347 runs and later very poor batting was seen.

Pakistan accused Indian players of immorality

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s former star player and Under-19 coach claimed that India’s behavior was unethical, adding that he had advised the team to behave respectfully while celebrating. His comment has come at a time when the Indian team, following the lead of the senior men’s team, refused to shake hands with Pakistani players. Sarfaraz said, ‘We have played against Indian teams which respect cricket. The behavior of the young players was disrespectful towards the game. India’s attitude towards sports was not good and the conduct of the Indian team in cricket was unethical.

Sameer Minhas had scored 172 runs

India Under-19’s defeat probably started with a wrong decision. After winning the toss, Indian captain Ayush Mhatre opted to bowl first on a Dubai pitch, which looked excellent for batting. Then Pakistan’s opener Sameer Minhas took advantage of this and scored 172 runs in 113 balls and took his team to a huge score of 347/8 in 50 overs. This score was enough for a 191-run victory over India and thus Pakistan Under-19 won their first Asia Cup title.
