Gujarat government spent Rs 50 crore on tribal welfare in VIP reception, AAP party revealed
Gujarat Politics: Aam Aadmi Party’s national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda and Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj held a press conference and launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party government for ignoring tribal interests in Gujarat.
Both leaders said the government, which spends crores of rupees on the Prime Minister’s programmes, shirks the responsibility by saying “it is not a grant” when it comes to tribal children, students and sick people. This is not just negligence, but a clear evidence of BJP’s anti-tribal mentality.
Children’s scholarships closed
In the press conference, Anurag Dhanda said that big stages are decorated in the name of tribal society, but the ground reality is that scholarships for children are closed, assistance is not available for serious diseases like sickle cell and Anganwadi bills are stuck. He raised the question that if the government has unlimited money for VIP arrangements, then why not money for the education and health of tribal children?
Serious problems of education and health
Terming it as “sham development”, Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj said that there are serious problems of malnutrition, education and health in tribal areas, but the government’s priority has become the stage, dome and facilities for VIP guests. He said that this is the same government which wants to limit the tribal society to speeches and pictures, while the real needs are continuously being ignored.
Rs 2 crore spent on tea and samosas
After this, the leaders said that the official information that has come out in response to the questions asked by Chaitar Vasava, Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Dediapada, Gujarat, is very shocking. According to the information received from the administration, crores of rupees were spent on different items for the Prime Minister’s program.
7 crores were spent on the pandal alone. 3 crores were spent on the Dome. 5 crores were spent on the construction of the stage. 2 crores were spent on VIP tea and samosas. Rs 7 crore was spent on buses to transport people.
Food, electricity and all other expenses included
Anurag Dhanda said that the same government gives only ₹ 2,100 for the entire month to the children living in tribal hostels, which includes food, electricity and all other expenses. On the one hand, food worth thousands of rupees in a single day for the officers, on the other hand, the expenses for the entire month for the children are inadequate, this difference highlights the thinking of the government.
thousands of children victims of malnutrition
Saurabh Bhardwaj further said that when tribal families suffering from sickle cell ask for help, they are told that there is no grant. Children’s scholarships have been closed for two years. There is shortage of classrooms in schools. Thousands of children in the district are victims of malnutrition, but there is no budget to provide them nutrition. At the same time, public money is spent openly on Unity March and VIP programs.

Children should get education, health and respect
Both the leaders clearly said that Aam Aadmi Party does not consider the tribal community only as a vote bank. The party believes that real development is that in which tribal children get education, health and respect. By raising this issue, Aam Aadmi Party has given voice to the sentiments of the people and raised the question whether development is only for the stages and cameras, or also for the children whose future is stuck in the files today.
The public is now deciding for itself
This voice raised from Dediapada in Gujarat is now being heard all over the country. These expenditure figures are not just an account of money, but show what the priorities of the government are. The public is now deciding for itself whether it wants VIP shine or a secure future for its children.
