Sorry Mom and Dad… Engineering student committed suicide by writing a suicide note, this reason came to light

Raigarh:A very sad and worrying case has come to light from Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, where a 20-year-old engineering student studying in a private university allegedly committed suicide in her hostel room. This incident has deeply shocked not only the university campus but also the student community and family members.

Identification of dead student

The deceased has been identified as Princi Kumari, resident of Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. She was a second year B.Tech student from Computer Science branch in the university located in Punjipathra area. Princi was studying in the university hostel and is said to be very serious about her studies.

Dead body found in hostel room

According to the police, Princi committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room late on Saturday night. When there was no movement from his room for a long time, the hostel administration became suspicious. On receiving information, police reached the spot and investigated the room. After this, the body was sent to the district hospital for post-mortem and after completing the necessary legal procedures, the body was handed over to the family members.

Family got suspicious due to not picking up the phone

According to sources, around 8:30 pm on Saturday evening, Princi’s family tried to contact him, but despite calling several times, his phone did not answer. Fearing something untoward, the family members immediately contacted the hostel warden. When the warden reached the student’s room, the door was locked from inside. Despite repeated calls, no response was received. After this, upon peeping through the window, everyone was shocked to see the inside scene.

The student was struggling with academic pressure

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Princi was under pressure from studies for a long time. In the first year, there were backlogs in some of his subjects and he had to prepare for the previous exams along with the second year exams. According to the family, she was under a lot of stress about not falling behind in her studies.

Pain expressed in suicide letter

Police have also found a suicide note from the room, which is being investigated. In the note, the student has reportedly written an apology to her parents that she could not live up to their expectations. He has also expressed concern about the expenses incurred on education and the financial condition of the family. He also wrote that his parents’ savings were being spent on his education, for which he deeply regretted.

Fees and financial concerns

Family members said that Princi had recently demanded about Rs 1 lakh in installments to deposit the semester fees. Both the financial burden and the pressure of studies were troubling him from within, although he never expressed his problems openly.

Police engaged in investigation

Police say that the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post mortem report comes. Besides, statements of other students living in the hostel, wardens and university employees are also being recorded. The matter is being investigated from every aspect.
