IBM (NYSE: IBM) today to 5 million students in India by 2030 Artificial Intelligence (AI)has announced its commitment to provide skill training in the areas of cybersecurity and quantum computing. The scheme will be implemented through the IBM SkillsBuild programme. It aims to create an equal-opportunity, future-ready workforce and provide students and adult learners with advanced digital skills and employment opportunities.

AI and new technology education will increase

Under this initiative, IBM will promote AI and new technology education in schools, colleges and vocational and skill training institutes. Along with this, hands-on AI education, faculty training, curriculum development, hackathons and internships will be organized in collaboration with organizations like All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

IBM continues to strengthen readiness at the school level as well. For this they have created an AI curriculum for senior secondary students and provided tools for teachers such as AI Project Cookbook, Teacher Handbook and explanatory modules. These programs aim to teach computational thinking and responsible AI principles at an early age, as well as empower educators to confidently and at scale deliver AI education.

IBM SkillsBuild is a key part of this initiative. It is the world’s most accessible technology education platform. The program offers over 1,000 courses in AI, cybersecurity, quantum, cloud, data, sustainability and skills needed for work. Which are useful for students, teachers and institutions. More than 1.6 crore people worldwide have benefited from it. SkillsBuild is an important part of IBM’s goal of training 3 crore people worldwide by 2030, in which India plays a very important role.
