Greenfield Expressway will be built in UP, provision made in the budget!
Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has made a provision of Rs 1,246 crore for the construction of an entry-controlled greenfield expressway from Jewar Airport to Ganga Expressway to strengthen the state’s industrial development and international connectivity. This fund will specifically be used to expedite the land acquisition process and ensure timeliness of the project.
This new expressway will directly connect Noida International Airport (Jewar) with Ganga Expressway. This will not only speed up freight transportation and industrial supply chains, but will also improve passenger traffic and export activities. The government believes that this project will give a new dimension to investment attraction, employment generation and development of industrial clusters in the state.
Provision for expressway and industrial development in the budget
In the supplementary budget, a provision of Rs 1,835 crore has been made under BGF for Ganga Expressway and Rs 100 crore for Gorakhpur Link Expressway. With this amount the obstacles in the projects will be removed. In addition, funds have also been earmarked for construction of new public convenience complexes and vehicle parking lots on the 292 km stretch of the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.
Fund for Industrial Investment and Promotion Policies
To promote industrial investment, the state government has allocated Rs 75 crore for the Accelerated Investment Promotion Policy 2020, Rs 371.69 crore for foreign investment and Fortune-500 companies, Rs 23.03 crore for the Oxygen Production Promotion Policy 2021 and Rs 823.43 crore for the Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2022.
Apart from this, a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made for Infrastructure and Industrial Development Policy 2012 and Rs 300 crore for Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2017. At the same time, a provision of Rs 85 crore has been made for the operation of PM Mitra Park and tree plantation fees in the handloom sector.
