BJP alliance Sweeps Maharashtra Local Body Polls – Read

The ruling Mahayuti alliance has won a clear victory in the Maharashtra local bodies elections. Results were declared for 288 Nagar Parishad and panchayat seats, where the BJP emerged as the single largest party, winning 129 seats.

The Opposition Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) have admitted defeat and accused the Election Commission of helping the ruling alliance. Congress leader Harsh Vardhan Sapkal also warned BJP allies Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, saying the BJP may later push them out.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the party is happy with the people’s support and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders for their guidance.
