Good news for pensioners in Bihar, government gave relief!
Patna: Bihar government has launched a new facility for the beneficiaries of Social Security Pension Scheme. Now pensioners will get free life authentication based on Aadhaar. This facility will be available at all the Common Service Centers (CSC) of the state. This service was started from Hulaschak CSC center located in Phulwarisharif, Patna. Secretary of Social Welfare Department, Bandana Preyashi was present in the program and she also presented life certificates to many pensioners.
Pension amount and types in Bihar
A total of 6 types of pension schemes are run under the Social Welfare Department for old people, widows and disabled people. From June 2025, all pensioners are being given a pension of Rs 1,100 per month. Secretary Bandana Preyashi said that Aadhaar based life certification will make the pension system more transparent and trustworthy. This will ensure that the pension reaches the right eligible person at the right time.
Certification facility will be available even at home
The Secretary said that the names of pensioners who have died will be removed from the list. At the same time, very elderly, sick or disabled pensioners cannot come to the CSC centre, camps will be organized for them at the Panchayat level or the team will go to their homes and do life certification.
Data will be reliable and updated
With the launch of the new service, pension related data will now be more accurate, updated and reliable. The Secretary has appealed to all the pensioners to go to their nearest CSC center and get the life certification done on time, so that the pension continues to be received without any interruption.
