Preparation for big farmer movement in UP Rakesh Tikait gave ultimatum to the government, know what are the demands?
Kisan Mahapanchayat News: Farmers from six districts affected by land acquisition organized a mahapanchayat at the zero point of Yamuna Expressway on Monday. National spokesperson of the organization Rakesh Tikait was also present in this Mahapanchayat held under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Union. The farmers warned that if their problems were not resolved by January 14, they would march to Lucknow.
More than a thousand farmers from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura and Agra districts participated in the Mahapanchayat. BKU workers and farmers started reaching zero point from 10 am in the morning in cars and tractor-trolleys. In the Mahapanchayat that lasted for about five hours, issues related to 64.7 percent additional compensation, 10 percent developed plots, population disposal and employment of the affected farmers from the three development authorities were raised prominently.

Rakesh Tikait made demands like giving 64.7 percent additional compensation to the affected farmers from Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority, increasing the circle rate of lands in the district and giving 70 percent share in employment to the farmers who gave land for Noida Airport. He also demanded that the ancestral population of farmers should not be removed and said that the problem of house construction is arising due to increase in families.
Officials assured solution
ADM LA Bachchu Singh, OSD of Yamuna Authority Shailendra Kumar Singh and OSD of Greater Noida Authority Ram Nayan Singh came to talk to the farmers and assured them of solving their problems. Officials said that the problems of farmers are being resolved in a phased manner. ADM LA said that work on increasing the circle rate is underway and it will be announced in the new year. Farmer leaders have given time till January 14 to the district administration and authorities. If no solution is found, further strategy will be decided. In view of the Mahapanchayat, police and PAC from many police stations were deployed in Zero Point and surrounding areas, while the traffic police also remained alert so that there was no jam.
Rakesh Tikait said- Aravali is our heritage
Rakesh Tikait also reacted to the ongoing controversy regarding the new definition of Aravalli hills. Talking to the media, he said that Aravali is our heritage and if anyone tries to destroy it, we will save it. If needed, we will protest and go there and stage a sit-in.
Will camp with 15 days’ ration: Tikait
National spokesperson of BKU said that Noida Airport has been completed, but till now 64.7 percent of the affected farmers have not received the benefit of additional compensation, jobs and land to build houses. He said that there will be no hearing of the farmers after the airport becomes operational. Tikait warned that if the government does not accept the demands, then after January 22, a tractor march will go to Lucknow, which will include one tractor and 10 people from one village. Will be camping with 15 days ration. The further strategy of the movement will be decided in the camp to be held in Prayagraj in January.

What are the demands?
- 64.7 percent additional compensation and increase in circle rate to all farmers affected by land acquisition in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority area.
- Permanent employment as per qualification to the children of affected farmers in Noida Airport and industrial units.
- Farmers should be given 10 percent land plot.
- Population settlement and proper development of villages.
