UP Assembly Winter Session 2025: Opposition created ruckus in the assembly over codeine cough syrup, SP raised slogans

Lucknow. Before the start of the winter session of the UP Assembly (UP Assembly Winter Session 2025), Samajwadi Party MLAs created a ruckus over the Codeine Cough Syrup issue. SPs created ruckus by sitting near the statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh in the Assembly. Raised slogans loudly. Samajwadi Party leader Mata Prasad Pandey demanded action against the accused in the Codeine Cough Syrup case. He said that the government should answer on this. If SP workers are accused then action should be taken against them also.

Raising questions on health services, the SP leader said that arbitrariness continues in hospitals. Government doctors prescribe medicines from outside. In such a situation, how will a poor person be able to get treatment? MRI machine is not working in any government hospital. A lot of extortion is done in investigations.

In response, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said that there has not been a single death due to Codeine Cough Syrup in UP. The government will give a full answer on this. BJP has also prepared a concrete strategy to deal with the attacks of the opposition in both the houses in the winter session of the Legislative Assembly in UP. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked all the ministers and MLAs to come to the Houses fully prepared to answer the opposition’s questions in the BJP Legislature Party meeting held at Lok Bhavan on Sunday. Said that the preparations of the ministers should be complete to answer every question of the opposition in both the houses with full force.
