Big breaking: Schools closed due to severe cold in UP! On 23-24 December, children of these districts should sit at home and have fun.
Severe cold and dense fog have slowed down the pace of life in Uttar Pradesh. School going children are also facing a lot of problems.
Keeping in mind the health of children, the administration has taken a big step.
Sambhal District Magistrate Dr. Rajendra Pansia has declared holiday on 23rd and 24th December in all the schools of the district. According to the order issued, this holiday will be applicable to all schools from nursery to class 12th.
This includes council, government, aided and all private schools (CBSE/ICSE/UP Board). However, the DM has clearly said that in schools where examinations are already scheduled, they will run as per their schedule. Also, teachers and non-teaching staff will have to come to school and complete their work.
Visibility near zero, cold breaks records
The weather showed its worst form in Sambhal on Monday. The minimum temperature in the district was 10.2 degrees Celsius, while till 11 am visibility on the roads was negligible due to dense fog. People were seen warming bonfires throughout the day due to the icy winds. The Meteorological Department says that the fog may deepen further in the next 48 hours.
What is the situation in other districts of UP?
Not just be careful, the administration has taken strict decisions in many parts of UP. In Amethi, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra, instructions have been given to close schools up to class 8th, while in Ambedkar Nagar schools till class 12th are closed.
Schools have not yet closed in the capital Lucknow, but in view of the cold, the timing has been changed to 9 am. Due to pollution and fog in Noida and Ghaziabad, it has been advised to run primary classes on online mode.
Strict warning from administration
The district administration has asked all school operators to strictly follow the order. It was warned in clear words that there will be no compromise on the safety of children and strict action will be taken against those who break the rules. By the way, December 25 is already a public holiday in the entire state due to Christmas.
