New Commissioner Prakash Kumar Sarve takes command in Bilaspur, emphasis on development and cleanliness
Bilaspur: Today was a special day in the history of Municipal Corporation, when newly appointed IAS Prakash Kumar Sarve took charge as Municipal Corporation Commissioner and MD Smart City. As soon as he assumed office, he gave a clear message that timely, quality and public welfare implementation of government schemes would be his top priority.

Commissioner Survey said that Bilaspur’s second position in the Swachh Survekshan in the country is a matter of pride, but now the aim is to achieve the first position. Describing cleanliness as a continuous process, he appealed for active cooperation from citizens, social organizations and public representatives.
Arpa Regeneration and River Conservation
Describing Arpa River as the lifeline of the city, he directed to complete the Arpa Upliftment and Bank Enhancement Scheme with quality and within the time limit. Expressed commitment to make the river pollution free, beautify it and maintain environmental balance.
Focus on smart city and infrastructure
The Commissioner said that it is the responsibility of the Corporation to ensure continuous availability of basic amenities like water, roads, sanitation, street lights and drainage along with smart city projects. He said that development will not be limited to papers only but should also be clearly visible on the ground.
Inclusive and balanced development
Reiterating his commitment to provide basic facilities in new areas also, he said that there will be no discrimination against any section. Bilaspur can be made a clean, beautiful and developed city only with better teamwork and public cooperation.
