Four newborns born together die, mother’s condition stable

Chhindwara. On Monday, a woman gave birth to four children simultaneously in Junnardev of Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, but unfortunately all four newborns died. Two children died on the way during referral before reaching the district hospital, while the remaining two breathed their last in the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of Chhindwara District Hospital. It was fortunate that the mother’s life was saved. His condition is stable.

According to the information, Guno wife Jagar Singh, resident of village Rora Dhekani Mal of Junnardev tehsil, gave birth to four children in the community health center at around 11:30 am on Monday. These included three girls and one boy. After the birth of all four children, there was no limit to the happiness in the family, but nature had something else in store.

All four newborns died within a few hours of birth. According to doctors, it was a ‘super premature’ case, due to which it proved impossible to save the babies. Due to the serious condition of the woman in the seventh month of pregnancy, the doctors decided to carry out immediate delivery. The team of BMO Dr. Suresh Nagvanshi and Dr. Roma Moolchandani conducted a safe normal delivery.

SNCU Nodal Officer Dr. Anshul Lamba said that among the two newborns admitted to the hospital, the weight of a girl was 600 grams and the weight of a boy was only 350 grams. Due to being extremely underweight, the lungs and other organs of both the children were not fully developed. Due to difficulty in breathing, the first girl died late in the night, while the boy breathed his last between 3:30 and 4 am on Tuesday morning.

The entire team of doctors and nursing staff, including Civil Surgeon Dr. Sushil Dubey, Child Specialist Dr. Pawan Nadurkar, RMO Dr. Harshvardhan Kudhapey, made continuous efforts to save the newborns, but the efforts of medical science failed due to the weight of the children being much less than the minimum standard required for survival.
