Central Park Tower: New record among residential buildings at 1,550 feet
Central Park Tower, located on Manhattan’s Billionaires Row at 217 West 57th Street in New York City, is the world’s tallest primarily residential building with a height of **1,550 feet (472 m)** as of December 2025. It was built by Extel Development Company and designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. This residential building is taller than the mixed-use Burj Khalifa in height.
Its sleek glass and steel exterior features a distinctive cantilever that extends to the east, providing unobstructed views of Central Park from north-facing units. Built on a base of retail (which also includes Nordstrom), all 179 luxury condominiums begin on the 32nd floor, offering spectacular panoramas of the city.
The residences range from two to eight bedroom layouts, ranging in size from 1,435 to more than 17,500 square feet. Designed by Rotate Studio, the interiors emphasize natural light, premium finishes and functional elegance.
Residents enjoy the exclusive Central Park Club (total ~50,000 sq. ft.) spread across multiple floors, featuring indoor/ outdoor pools, fitness center, spa, terraces, children’s play area, and private dining. The 100th floor features a grand ballroom, lounge, cigar bar and residents-only restaurant – one of the highest private club spaces in the world.
Penthouse prices are extremely luxury, with recent sales exceeding $115 million and listings as high as $195 million (originally $250 million for the triplex). This iconic tower redefines supertall living on the New York skyline.
