India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra finally succeeded in crossing the 90 meter barrier this year, but he could not defend his title in the World Championships. Neeraj achieved the standard distance of 90 meters in javelin throw in Doha Diamond League. Neeraj threw his javelin to 90.23 meters and became the third player from Asia and 25th overall to do so. Neeraj won three big titles
Neeraj won three major titles this year in the form of Paris Diamond League, Golden Spike Meet and NC Classic. He realized his dream of hosting a world-class competition in the form of the NC Classic in front of a home crowd and family members. However, the star player faced disappointment in the Diamond League finals and finished second behind Germany’s Julian Weber. The most unexpected result was seen at the Tokyo World Championships in September. In this competition, Chopra could throw the javelin only 84.03 meters and stood eighth overall.
