Four and a half years ago, the court of Additional Sessions Judge FTC/CAW Sonbhadra Archana Rani found Dharamjeet guilty and sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 in the case of luring a 15-year-old girl away on the pretext of marriage. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of two months. The period spent in jail will be included in the sentence.

According to the prosecution, the victim’s father, a resident of a village in the Chopan police station area, had alleged in the complaint given in the Chopan police station that on March 2, 2021, Dharamjeet son of Keshav, resident of Markundi Awai, police station Chopan, district Sonbhadra, had lured his 15-year-old daughter on the pretext of marriage and took him away somewhere. Take necessary action. On this complaint, the police registered an FIR and investigated the case and after finding sufficient evidence, the investigator filed a charge sheet in the court.

While hearing the case, the court, after listening to the arguments of the advocates of both the parties, observing the statements of the witnesses and the documents, sentenced the accused Dharamjit to the above punishment. Government lawyer Satyaprakash Tripathi argued on behalf of the prosecution.
