Indore players hoisted India’s victory flag in Dubai
Indore. Indore players Deepesh Chaudhary, Aditya Ranaut and Varnika Upadhyay, who won the gold medal for India in the 7th Roll Ball World Cup 2025 held in Dubai, were given a grand welcome on their arrival in the city. A victory rally was taken out by Indore Roll Ball Association from the airport to Rajwada, in which flowers were showered on the players riding in an open jeep and huge fireworks were done. During this, the entire city echoed with slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
After reaching the airport, the players first visited the Bada Ganpati temple, after which they were warmly welcomed by the city residents and sports lovers from Bada Ganpati intersection to Rajwada. Seeing the players, their families became emotional. After reaching Rajwada Chowk, players and coaches garlanded the statue of Mata Ahilyabai Holkar and wished for a bright future.
Gold medal winning player Deepesh Chaudhary said that victory in the World Cup was achieved after continuous and hard practice. He said that the Indian players from Indore, while winning the gold medal, also defeated Pakistan in Dubai, which was a proud moment for the team. Team coach Hemant Joshi said that after about 15 years of hard work and a gap of about 6 years, India has got a medal in the World Cup. He said that continuous practice is the key to success and every player should keep working hard. Player Varnika Upadhyay said that the team won the gold medal by defeating Kenya and Iran in Dubai and raised the flag of the country. He gave credit for this success to the coach and the entire team. Player Aditya Ranaut said that the team had matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan and in the final against Kenya, in which the experience of defeating Pakistan was the most special. There was an atmosphere of enthusiasm throughout the city in honor of the players who returned after winning gold medals in the World Cup and sports lovers called it a moment of pride for Indore.
