Chhattisgarh Murder Mystery: A case has come to light from Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, which everyone is stunned to hear. This is a case which has become a big challenge for the police investigation, judicial process and the entire system. In fact, the murder case of a young man named Samit Khakha who was declared dead in the police records was solved. Now the same young man suddenly reached the police station alive. After reaching the police station he said – Sir, I am alive. I have not been murdered. On hearing this, the police officers, family members and villagers were shocked.

This story starts from 22nd October. When the half-burnt body of a young man was found lying in a pit in the Turitongri forest on the Purananagar-Balachhapar road. The face and most of the body were badly burnt. Police registered a case and conducted post-mortem of the body. The report revealed that the young man had been murdered. A case of murder was registered under sections 103 (1) and 238 (A) of BNS at City Kotwali Jashpur.

Police investigation revealed that Limited Khakha had gone to Jharkhand for labour. The other youths who accompanied him returned, but Sammit did not return. According to the police, on October 17, Samit had returned to Jashpur with his companions. There was a dispute regarding commission during a liquor party near Banki river culvert, in which Ramjit Ram attacked with a knife and Virendra Ram attacked with an iron rod. It was alleged that after the murder, the body was thrown in the forest and burnt with petrol.

5 people jailed for murder

In front of the Executive Magistrate, the half-burnt body was identified as that of Samit Khakha by Samit’s mother, father and brother. The police got the forensic ‘scene of crime’ recreated. The statements of the accused were recorded before the Judicial Magistrate, where they also confessed to the murder. Video recording of the entire process was also done. After this, five accused were arrested and sent to jail.

When the person reached the police station on his own

On the night of Saturday, December 20, the turning point came which turned the whole story upside down. Limited Khakha himself reached the City Kotwali police station along with Gram Panchayat Sitonga Sarpanch Kalpana Khalkho. According to the Sarpanch, Samit had alighted from the bus coming from Jharkhand. An auto driver recognized him and informed that the same young man who was in jail on charges of murder was alive.

Sammit told the police that after reaching Ranchi, he got separated from his friends and started working as a laborer in the fields in Saraipali village of Giridih district. He did not have a mobile phone, so he could not contact anyone. This sensational truth came to light as soon as I returned home before Christmas.

Then whose body was found?

After Samit was found alive, the biggest question before the police is whose half-dead body found in the forest was it? SDOP Chandrashekhar Parma says the police had followed all legal procedures, such as identification, statement and recording. Now a fresh investigation has been started and the statutory process of temporary release of the accused is being adopted.
