Third Eye Asian Film Festival 2026: ’22nd Third Eye’, the standard of film culture in Maharashtra Asian Film Festival’ Dated 9th January to 15th January 2026 Mumbai (Mumbai) and Thane (Thane) will be held. This seven-day long festival includes Asian as well as Indian films, and a total of 56 films have been selected this year. These films selected in the festival are from Prabhadevi’s P.L. Deshpande will be screened at Mini Theater at Maharashtra Kala Akademi and Cinepolis Cinemas at Lake Shore Mall in Thane. The festival will be opened with the screening of the Indonesian film ‘On Your Lap’ (Pangku), which won the Jury Prize at the Busan Film Festival.

We are very proud to host the 22nd Third Eye Asian Film Festival. For the past twenty-two years, the festival has played an important role in bringing the best of Asian and Indian cinema to the audiences of Maharashtra. This year my father Dr. V. On the occasion of Shantaram’s 125th birth anniversary, it is a moment of great joy for us to screen the films of his masterpieces,” said Kiran V., President, Asian Film Foundation. Shantaram said, the Asian Film Foundation started organizing the Third Eye Asian Film Festival from the year 2002 with the aim of making the films popular in the international film festivals around the world to be seen by the audience in Mumbai and other cities of Maharashtra. This film festival is being organized in Mumbai and Thane for the last twenty two years.

A festival for film lovers
This year, through 56 selected films, we will provide a diverse and rich cinematic experience to the audience. Director of the festival said that the festival will be a festival for film lovers due to the special section of films from Kyrgyzstan, competition of Marathi and Indian films and screening of international award-winning films. Said by Santosh Pathare. Along with Asian films, the competition section of Indian films and Marathi films will be the attraction of the festival.
Special Award to Sai Paranjape
Renowned director Padma Bhushan Sai Paranjpe will be awarded the ‘Asian Film Culture Award’ at the Banana Festival. Director Uma da Cunha will be honored with ‘Satyajit Ray Memorial Award’. A special award in memory of late Sudhir Nandgaonkar will be presented to film scholar Naakshi Shedde. Dr. V. Shantaram directed Do Aachen Bara Haath, Dr. Movies like Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani, Kunku, Navrang will be shown.
