Kanpur Ganga Barrage Accident Video: A heart-wrenching incident came to light on Tuesday evening at the Ganga Barrage in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. During police checking, a speeding car broke the barricade and hit the policemen on duty. Two sub-inspectors and a home guard were seriously injured in this accident.

Let us tell you that at around 6:30 pm on Tuesday evening, the team of Kohana police station was regularly checking suspicious vehicles by placing a barrier on the Ganga barrage. Meanwhile, the driver of a black Hyundai Aura car coming from Unnao side increased his speed instead of stopping after seeing the police. According to eyewitnesses, the speed of the car was so high that it broke the police barricading and directly hit the soldiers on duty. After the collision, the driver fled from the spot along with the car.

Treatment continues in hospital

Immediately after the incident, the policemen present on the spot immediately took the injured colleagues to Hallett Hospital. According to doctors, treatment of all the injured policemen is ongoing and their condition is being constantly monitored.

‘The accused will be caught soon’

Joint Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Ashutosh Kumar told the media that the Kohna police team was checking suspicious vehicles when an unknown Hyundai Aura car broke the barrier and escaped. Policemen have been seriously injured during this period. He said that teams have been formed to search for the accused and he will be arrested soon.

Incident captured in CCTV

Police have found important clues from CCTV cameras installed around the incident site. It is clearly visible in the footage how the car driver deliberately hit the barrier and escaped after injuring the policemen. Police are now resorting to digital surveillance to find out the vehicle number and its route.

Kohana police station has registered a case against the unknown driver under relevant sections. Ganga Barrage and all the surrounding exit routes have been cordoned off. Police claim that the accused will be taken into custody soon.
