ISRO’s Bluebird-2 satellite to be launched soon, watch live streaming here

LVM3-M6 Bluebird Block-2 Satellite Launch Updates: Indian Space Research Center (ISRO) is going to launch its important commercial mission today from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. America’s next generation communications satellite Bluebird Block-2 will be launched at 8:54 am via LVM3-M6 rocket. You will be able to watch the launching on ISRO’s YouTube channel isro official. The Bluebird Block-2 mission is part of the global LEO constellation. Its objective is to provide connectivity directly to mobile through satellite. With this, 4G and 5G voice calls, video calls, messaging and data services can be made available in any part of the world. Calls can be made directly from space through any smartphone.

Satellite has antenna equal to half a football field

It has a phased array of 223 square meters. Which makes it the largest commercial communication satellite deployed in low earth orbit at an altitude of 600 kilometers. This satellite weighs 6,100 kg. A Bluebird satellite will have an antenna of 64 square meters, or the size of half a football field. According to ISRO, the mission is a dedicated commercial launch. It is being executed under the agreement between New Space India Limited (NSIL) and American company AST Space Mobile. NSIL is the commercial arm of ISRO.

The heaviest payload will be

Before the launch, ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan performed puja at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala on December 22. ISRO said that this will be the heaviest payload ever sent to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) by LVM3 rocket. Earlier the heaviest payload was 4,400 kg. It was launched in GTO in November 2024. According to the space agency, the 43.5 meter high LVM3 rocket has three stages. Cryogenic engine has been used in it. Two S200 solid boosters provide thrust to the rocket for lift off. The satellite is expected to separate from the rocket 15 minutes after launch.

AST Space Mobile has launched Bluebird-1 to 5 satellites

Before this, the heaviest LVM3-M5 communication satellite was 03. Weighing 4,400 kg, ISRO successfully launched it into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) on November 2. AST Space Mobile has previously launched Bluebird-1 to 5 satellites in September 2024. The company claims that it has partnered with more than 50 mobile operators across the world. Similar satellites will be launched in future also.

There will be no need to change service provider
