The KTM 390 Adventure R is powered by the company’s 399cc, single-cylinder LC4c engine. This engine produces 45.2 hp and 39 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, which is useful for smooth riding both on the highway and off-road. This is the same power unit that KTM uses in their mid-size performance bikes.
Hardware upgrade of the bike for off-roading
What sets the 390 Adventure R apart from the standard model is its off-road-focused hardware. It has a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup. Suspension travel is 230mm (previously 200mm). The ground clearance will be 272 mm and the seat height will be 870 mm. These changes clearly indicate that the bike will perform better on rough roads, trails and tough off-road conditions.
