Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Breaks AB de Villiers Record: India’s rising star Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made many records in his name in just 14 years. At the same time, he is continuously breaking many more records. Vaibhav achieved a big feat by scoring a century in just 36 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy organized by BCCI. He has become the youngest player to score a century in this tournament. He did not stop just till his century. Apart from this, he also made many records in his name.
After scoring a century in 36 balls, Vaibhav Suryavanshi also completed his 150 runs in 54 balls. With this, Vaibhav created history in ODI cricket. Vaibhav also broke the record of South African veteran AB de Villiers. The record of scoring the fastest 150 in ODI cricket was in the name of AB de Villiers. He played an inning of 150 runs in just 64 balls during the ODI World Cup in 2015.
Vaibhav broke this record of De Villiers. Now he has become the fastest player to score 150 runs. Vaibhav was rapidly moving towards his double century when he was out in the 27th over on an individual score of 190. During this, Vaibhav hit 16 fours and 15 sixes. This is the first century of his List A career. He broke many records in his first century itself.
Second fastest century in List A
Suryavanshi took 36 balls to reach three figures and missed out on breaking the record for the fastest century by an Indian in this format by just one ball. Anmolpreet Singh holds the record for the fastest century by an Indian, having achieved the feat in 35 balls against Arunachal in 2024. Yusuf Pathan is third in the list (with 40 balls), followed by Urvil Patel (41) and Abhishek Sharma (42).
