Investigation has revealed that the student is a resident of Ghaziabad, is an adult and is studying BCA from an institute located on Meerut Road. She comes from a middle class family and is said to be very good in studies. Until the video surfaced, her record was that of a normal and disciplined student, but after the incident her identity became public.

The young man seen in the video is also doing BTech from a college in Ghaziabad. Both belong to the Jat community and the distance between their houses is only 3 kilometers. Because of this, the matter was not only legal, but also became a subject of social pressure and discussion.

FIR registered, both students accused

In this entire matter, an FIR has been registered against both the boy and the girl in Muradnagar police station. A case was also registered against the train operator who recorded the CCTV footage and made it viral on social media. The operator has been immediately dismissed from his job.

According to the complaint of NCRTC, Namo Bharat train was going from Duhai to Muradnagar at 4 pm on 24th November. Obscene act took place in Premium Coach-23. On December 2, investigation revealed that operator Rishabh recorded the video using mobile without permission and made it viral. He was dismissed from service on 3 December. This video was part of CCTV, which should not have been made public.
