On Wednesday, 24 December, Bihar won the toss and decided to bat first at the JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi. What happened next surprised the audience and the cricket world. In the very beginning of the innings, young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi wreaked havoc on the bowlers of Arunachal Pradesh. This left-handed batsman played one of the most explosive innings of Indian domestic cricket by completing his century in just 36 balls.

At the age of just 14, Vaibhav Suryavanshi performed in a way that is difficult to even imagine. He played an explosive inning of 190 runs in just 84 balls. His inning not only decided the direction of the match, but also made it clear that Indian cricket has got a new star.

Sakibul Ghani broke Indian record

After Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Bihar captain Sakibul Ghani entered the field, who increased the pace of breaking the record even more. Batting at number five, Ghani adopted an aggressive attitude from the very beginning and did not give any chance to the bowlers to recover. By completing his century in just 32 balls, Ghani scored the fastest century scored by an Indian in List A cricket. He broke Anmolpreet Singh’s record of century in 35 balls and also left behind Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s century of 36 balls made on the same day.

Bihar made the biggest score in List A cricket

This match against Arunachal Pradesh brought a flurry of records for Bihar. Bihar scored a huge score of 574/6 in this match, which is the highest team score ever in men’s List A cricket. Earlier this record was in the name of Tamil Nadu, which had scored 506/2 runs against Arunachal Pradesh in 2022. Bihar broke that record and secured the first position in the all-time list.
