New law passed in UP, all the villagers are worried!

Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big and historic step in the interest of the rural population. With the passing of the Uttar Pradesh Rural Population Bill 2025 in the Assembly, lakhs of people living in the villages of the state have got legal protection regarding their residential property. Generally it is being called household law, which clarifies the rights related to house and land of the population in rural areas.

what is domestic law

Gharauni is actually a proof of ownership of houses and populated lands located in villages. Till now this document was issued under administrative process, but its legal validity was not clear. After the new law, the Gharauni document has got official and valid recognition, just like Khatauni is for agricultural land.

Villagers will benefit directly

The biggest benefit of this law is that now villagers will be able to take loans from banks and financial institutions on the basis of their household documents. This will make it easier to raise money for home construction, repairs, starting a business or other needs. Earlier, banks used to hesitate in giving loans for houses built on residential land, but now this hurdle will be removed to a great extent.

Ownership related work will become easier

Under the new provisions, the process of registering name, name transfer and correction in the population land records has been simplified. People will no longer have to visit offices in matters of inheritance, sale or succession. Apart from this, the facility to update the mobile number, address and other information recorded in the records has also been provided.

Disputes will reduce, development will get a boost

The government believes that this law will reduce property related disputes in villages. Having clear records will increase transparency and avoid legal complications in the future. According to Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh, this law gives permanent legal protection to the records prepared under the Pradhan Mantri Swamitva Yojana, which will give impetus to planned development in rural areas.
