According to industry tracker Sack, only around 51,000 tickets had been sold nationwide for the opening day by noon on Wednesday. With less than a day left before release, the film’s advance booking gross was reported at Rs 1.97 crore. The figure has fallen short of the Rs 2 crore mark, indicating low pre-release buzz. While romantic comedies are known to grow gradually through word of mouth, the current trend has pointed towards a soft start at the box office.
The situation has been made more challenging due to the dominance of Dhurandhar, which continues to draw massive footfalls in its fourth week. Screens have also been taken up by Avatar: Fire and Ash, leaving limited room for newer releases. As a result, screen allocation for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has reportedly remained restricted in several centres.

Trade reports have suggested that the makers had requested a minimum of two shows per day in single-screen theatres. Higher show counts were also sought in multiplexes, depending on the number of screens. However, several single screens are yet to open advance bookings for the film. Most shows have continued to be allotted to Dhurandhar, which has been performing strongly across demographics. This imbalance is expected to impact the rom-com’s opening weekend collections.
The festive Christmas release was expected to offer wider visibility. However, the ongoing box office wave created by competing titles appears to have reduced its reach. Industry insiders have noted that walk-in audiences may still play a role, but the lack of strong advance momentum could prove costly.
