The victim’s mother said that his bail should be cancelled. Only then will we get justice. The judge did not give us any time. He said whatever he wanted and then returned to his chamber. My husband was murdered. My son-in-law is in danger. My brother-in-law is in jail. We are not safe and we will go to the Supreme Court. A day earlier, the Delhi High Court had granted bail (stay of sentence) to former MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the Unnao rape case. Sengar was convicted by the CBI Court of Delhi in the rape case of a minor and was serving life imprisonment. The division bench of Justices Subramonium Prasad and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar has stayed the sentence pending his appeal. He has been granted relief on the condition of furnishing a surety bond of Rs 15 lakh. However, he will remain in custody as he is yet to get bail in the custodial death case of the victim’s father. An appeal and a petition to stay the sentence are pending in the Delhi High Court. He was sentenced to ten years in prison in that case. While granting bail, the High Court has directed that Sengar not go to the five kilometer area where the victim lives in Delhi. It has also been directed that Sengar will remain in Delhi. He will not contact the victim’s family members. Senior advocate N Hariharan, along with advocate SP M Tripathi, appeared for Kuldeep Singh Sengar. It was told that Kuldeep Singh Sengar is not a government employee. It was also reported that the age of the victims is in dispute, as it varies in different documents. In this situation, the medical report on his age should be considered.
