Ishan Kishan created havoc in Vijay Hazare, scored a century in just 33 balls; Suryavanshi’s record could not last even for a day

Jharkhand captain Ishan Kishan surprised everyone by scoring a century in just 33 balls against Karnataka. With this stormy innings, he also broke the record of Bihar’s young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had scored a century in 36 balls on the same day.

Ishaan’s explosive innings

Ishan Kishan came to bat at number 6 in the match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He scored 125 runs in 39 balls, which included 7 fours and 14 sixes. His strike rate was more than 320. With this century, Ishan reached second place in the list of fastest centuries by Indians in List A cricket. The fastest century was scored by Bihar captain Saqibul Ghani in 32 balls on the same day. This innings of Ishaan shows his usefulness in the middle order.

Recently, he has also scored a century in the final of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where Jharkhand won the title. Now his eyes are on making a strong place in the Indian team.

Karnataka won the toss and chose to bowl first. Jharkhand built the base with good innings of Virat Singh (88 runs) and Kumar Kushagra (63 runs). Then Ishaan created a storm in the last overs. The team scored 412 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. This score proved to be a big challenge for Karnataka.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record broken

14 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made headlines by scoring a century in 36 balls against Arunachal Pradesh. He also became the youngest centurion in List A. But Ishaan left his record behind. Vaibhav later scored 190 runs in 84 balls, but the record of his fastest century is now in the name of Ishaan. The first day of Vijay Hazare Trophy was full of runs and records. Players like Ishan Kishan are showing excellent form in domestic cricket, which is good news for the Indian team.
