Bihar cricket team shook the world, created history by scoring 574 runs in 50 overs.
Bihar cricket team performed such a feat in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26, which added a new chapter in the history of List A cricket. In the match played in Ranchi on Wednesday, Bihar, while batting against Arunachal Pradesh, scored the highest ever List A team score. Batting first, Bihar scored 574 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs, which became a new world record in List A cricket.
Earlier this record was in the name of Tamil Nadu, which had scored 506 runs against Arunachal Pradesh in the same tournament in 2022. The Bihar team left that figure far behind and surprised the cricket world with its aggressive batting. This innings was not only special in terms of runs, but many individual achievements were also recorded in it.
The foundation of this historic score was laid by three brilliant centuries. Young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi made the most headlines, who played an explosive inning of 190 runs. An excellent mix of aggression and technique was seen in his innings. With this innings, Suryavanshi became the youngest player to score a century in List A cricket. He was given excellent support by Ayush Loharuka, who played a restrained but impressive innings of 116 runs. Loharuka held one end and focused on strike rotation while hitting big shots. The partnership between the two batsmen completely pushed the Arunachal Pradesh bowlers onto the backfoot.
