Status of Holi City to three holy cities, AAP MLA joins in service with Sangat at Fatehgarh Sahib
The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has once again put forward its vision towards religious faith and public service. On the holy land of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, an Aam Aadmi Party MLA along with the local Sangat participated in the cleanliness service. This is the same historical place where the memory of the supreme sacrifice of Mata Gujri ji and Chhote Sahibzadas is linked.
MLA served in company
The MLA served among the Sangat with a broom and other means of cleaning in his hand, thereby sending the message that the government is not limited to just making policies, but believes in serving on the ground. Recently, the Punjab Government has taken an important decision to declare Sri Amritsar Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib and Sri Fatehgarh Sahib as ‘Holy Cities’. This decision is being considered a big step towards giving special identity to the major religious centers of Sikhism.
The government aims to promote cleanliness, infrastructure and religious tourism in these holy cities. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, different development plans have been prepared for these cities, which include improvement of roads, facilities for devotees and conservation of religious places.
The service program organized at Fatehgarh Sahib is not being seen only as a formal event, but it is being linked to the thinking and policy of the government. In the last few years, the state government has paid special attention to the maintenance of religious places, better arrangements for pilgrims and cleanliness campaigns. The local community was also excited by this initiative and people said that it is inspiring for the representatives in power to serve the general public in this way.
Environment protection given priority in holy cities
After being declared a holy city, environmental protection is also being given priority in these holy cities. Under the government scheme, work is being done to develop green belt, reduce pollution and protect cultural heritage. Along with this, rules like control on alcohol and smoking have been implemented in these areas so that the religious environment is maintained. The government has also allocated special funds for these cities, which will give impetus to the development works.
Religious organizations and local businessmen have welcomed this step of the government. He believes that getting the status of Holy City will promote religious tourism and create new employment opportunities. Experts also say that if the expansion of facilities continues like this, then in the coming years these holy cities of Punjab can gain recognition at the international level.
After the service program, the MLA said that this effort is not limited to just one day, but is part of the government’s continuous policy. He said that the objective is that the holy land of Punjab remains clean, well-maintained and developed, so that future generations can be proud of their religious and cultural heritage.
