Bihar broke the world record by scoring 574/6 runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Bihar created history in List A cricket on December 24, 2025, scoring **highest ever team total of 574/6** in 50 overs in a Plate Group match against Arunachal Pradesh at the JSCA Oval Ground, Ranchi. This broke Tamil Nadu’s previous record of 506/2 (which was also made against Arunachal in 2022).
Three centuries were scored in this explosive batting: young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stormy **190 runs in 84 balls** (16 fours, 15 sixes, strike rate 226.19), Ayush Loharuka’s **116 runs in 56 balls** (11 fours, 8 sixes), and captain Sakibul Ghani’s unbeaten **128 runs in 40 balls** (10 fours, 12 Sixes, strike rate 320).
**Record breaking day**
At 14 years and 272 days, Suryavanshi became the youngest player to score a century in List A cricket by scoring a century in 36 balls—the fourth fastest century overall. He also scored the fastest List A 150 (off 59 balls), surpassing AB de Villiers’ record of 64 balls.
Ghani’s century in 32 balls is the fastest by an Indian and the third fastest worldwide (after Jake Fraser-McGurk’s 29 and de Villiers’ 31).
Supporting innings from Piyush Singh (77 off 66 balls) and opening batsman Mangal Mehrour ensured that the run rate did not dip, with Bihar maintaining a run rate of 11.48.
Arunachal’s bowlers found it difficult on the flat pitch and gave away a lot of runs while bowling poorly.
This historic innings reflects the growing power-hitting era of Indian domestic cricket, combining young talent and explosive finishing.
