Are we becoming a dead society?

Rahul Gandhi expressed his displeasure on the social media platform ‘X’ and raised serious questions on the central government and the justice system. He asked whether such treatment of a gangrape victim was appropriate? Is it her fault that she is daring to raise her voice for justice? Rahul Gandhi further wrote that it is disappointing and shameful for criminals to get bail, especially when the victim is living in constant fear.

He said in strong words that what kind of justice is it to give bail to rapists and treat victims like criminals? We are becoming not only a dead economy but also a ‘dead society’ with such inhuman incidents. Soon after the court’s verdict on Tuesday, the victim, her mother and women’s rights activist Yogita Bhayana started protesting at Delhi’s India Gate. The protesters demanded that Sengar’s bail be canceled immediately.

Police forcibly removed the victim

Read:- After Kuldeep Sengar got bail, the victim’s mother said that we will go to the Supreme Court.

However, Delhi Police stopped them from protesting and forcibly took them and made them sit in the bus. During this time, the victim’s mother became emotional and alleged that they were taking her daughter captive. These security personnel want to kill us. We did not get justice, we want justice from the Supreme Court. We will not back down until we get justice.” He also said that if Kuldeep Sengar’s bail is not cancelled, he will commit suicide as he is not safe now.

Victim accused of serious allegations

During the protest at India Gate, the victim had made a major political allegation. He said that Kuldeep Sengar has been granted bail keeping in mind the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections to be held in 2027. It is noteworthy that this case of 2017 had shocked the entire country when the victim’s car was hit by a truck without a number plate. The victim’s father and two aunts had died in that accident. The victim and her lawyer were seriously injured.
