There will be no ban on web series

During the hearing of the case, Justice Sachin Dutta raised the question whether this web series is a completely fictional story? On this, the lawyer appearing for the producer told the court that a disclaimer has been given at the beginning of the web series and no kind of certification is required for it. He also said that the names of the characters shown in the series have been kept different from their real names.

At the same time, the lawyer on behalf of the petitioner and Vikas Dubey’s wife Richa Dubey argued that this web series will defame her family. The lawyer said that in the promo of the series it has been described as ‘India’s most famous encounter’. Even though the character in the series has been named Vishal Dubey instead of Vikas, the story clearly seems to be related to Vikas Dubey, which will harm the family’s image.

It has been said in the petition that Vikas Dubey’s married and personal life has been shown in the web series without the permission of the family, which is wrong. To this the producer’s lawyer replied that the information shown in the film has been taken from the public domain and if needed, it will be added more clearly in the disclaimer. The court also recorded that the producer has said that this story is completely fictional and is not based on the real life of any person. The producer assured the court that they are ready to make necessary changes in the disclaimer to address the petitioner’s objections. For this they will also file an affidavit in the High Court.
