Rajasthan Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme Offers ₹10 Lakh Incentive to Eligible Couples

The Rajasthan Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme has been introduced to promote social equality and mutual understanding. Through the Dr Savita Ben Ambedkar Inter-Caste Marriage Incentive Scheme, the Rajasthan government aims to break long-standing caste barriers and encourage marriages based on choice rather than social divisions.

Even today, caste remains a significant hurdle in many marriages across India. In several cases, couples are unable to marry simply because they belong to different castes. Through this scheme, the Rajasthan government aims to change this mindset and provide social respect and financial support for inter-caste marriages.

₹10 Lakh Financial Assistance for Inter-Caste Marriages

Under this scheme, if a Scheduled Caste (SC) person marries a Savarna Hindu partner, the state government provides financial assistance of ₹10 lakh. This amount is released in two parts to ensure both immediate support and long-term security for the couple.

₹5 lakh has been deposited as a fixed deposit in the couple’s name and remains locked for 8 years. The remaining ₹5 lakh is transferred directly into the joint bank account of the husband and wife. This structure helps the couple manage early-marriage expenses while securing their future.

Eligibility Conditions for the Scheme

To avail the benefits of the Rajasthan Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme, certain conditions must be fulfilled. One spouse must be a member of the Scheduled Caste category and a permanent resident of Rajasthan. The age limit for both husband and wife should not exceed 35 years. The minimum age requirements are 18 for the bride and 21 for the groom.

The couple’s combined annual income should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. The marriage must be performed with mutual consent, without coercion or undue pressure. Additionally, this should be the first marriage for both individuals.
