Big allegation on Elon Musk’s Tesla, 15 people lost their lives due to vehicle malfunction!

New Delhi: Tesla, the electric car company of the world’s richest man Elon Musk, has once again come under the scanner regarding safety. In a Bloomberg report, a big revelation has been made regarding Tesla’s electric doors, which has increased concern all over the world. According to the report, at least 15 people died in Tesla vehicles because their electric doors did not open after the accident. The report also says that Tesla owner Elon Musk was warned in advance about this poor design.

An examination of data from 2012 to 2025 shows that the technology used to make Tesla’s doors stylish is becoming a “death trap” for people in times of emergency. Most Tesla cars do not have old-fashioned wires to open the doors, but instead have electrically operated buttons. These buttons run on the car’s 12-volt battery. In a heavy accident, when this battery breaks or gets disconnected, the door buttons and outside handles stop working.

In many of the 15 cases, people survived the accident but were unable to get out before the car caught fire. People who came to help said that they could not open the doors from outside, while the people sitting inside were trying to get out. More than half of these 15 deaths have occurred after November 2024.

According to the report, Tesla has a manual door opening lever for emergency, but it is very difficult to find. There is a small lever near the window button for the front seat, but there is no label on it. People are unable to recognize it during times of fire and panic. The rear lever is very difficult to find on the Model 3 and Model Y. They are often hidden under the carpet or inside pockets, making them almost impossible to find in a smoke-filled car.

America’s government agency (NHTSA) has started its investigation in September 2025. Many families have also filed a case against Tesla. In a case in California, three students could not come out of the fire due to the strong glass and jammed doors of the Cybertruck. A report claims that Elon Musk and top Tesla executives were informed about this danger years ago. In 2017 itself, engineers had warned that these doors dependent on electricity could be dangerous. According to the report, Musk ignored these warnings because he wanted the interior of the car to look beautiful and “futuristic”. He gave more importance to design than safety.

Tesla has not yet given any official statement on this, but the company has added a new safety page on its website. The company says that now Tesla cars will automatically unlock the doors in case of an accident. However, it is not clear whether this feature will be available in old cars or not, or whether this system will work if the battery breaks.
